Community Development Director - Svetlana Kim
Svetlana Kim immigrated to the United States from Leningrad, Russia, in 1991. She worked her way from a cleaning lady to a sales manager and cosmetics executive for Lancôme, Estée Lauder, and Laura Mercier before becoming a successful stockbroker. Today she is an entrepreneur and community leader, and author.
She is actively involved in such organizations as the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, AARP Women’s Leadership Circle, and the Junior League of Washington DC. Svetlana also serves as a Board Memberof the Library of Congress, The Asian Division Friends of Society. Kim is a 2008 Asian Academy Hallof Fame inductee. Married, she splits her time between Washington, DC, and San Francisco.
